This is just my reflection. I hope you guys like it. Stay happy. God bless us and our families...
It is indeed true that getting to know more about things is good. It makes us knowledgeable about almost everything that surrounds us. It enables us to help others in a happy way.
However, knowing and having things, though they make people become better, sometimes they lead to a feeling of too much confidence, too proud and sometimes even arrogance.
We live with the things we know and live with what we possess. The more material things we have, the bigger our ego gets. The higher the salary we receive, the more we feel we are ten feet tall.
We feel so huge about ourselves. We feel so big, bigger than others. Everyday our head gets bigger and heavier than our body because we wallow in the feeling of being so great... our manners become loud... we feel we are more than perfect.
We only see our own greatness. We make others feel so low that they tend to feel less important about themselves, even to the point of being worthless.
Let us not forget who we were once. A fresh and young ordinary person, seeking for a job, falling in line and hoping that somehow we get interviewed by the company and that, they will like our limited skill. That once, we experienced being hungry because we didn't have enough money in our pockets to buy a nice heavy meal. That once, we didn't even know where to go and wondering what's in store for in the future. That once, we felt being unnoticed... unheard... seeking for a companion.
All that we receive right now, even how great they may be are indeed fruits of our own labor. But, let us be reminded also that all these things are gifts from God. Everyday, we should be thankful and NOT every day be boastful. There is no greatness in a person if he only sees himself.
And if we will just continue looking at our own self, our own labor, our own difficulty, our own credit and our own greatness... then, let us not be surprised if time comes and one day we suddenly stop... and ponder; because we notice that there is nobody left to see us... but just ourselves.
"Nowadays, it is very difficult to find a person who is both wise and yet humble"
