Its the weekend!!! Freedom!!!
Almost everyone looks forward to the weekend. No matter if its the usual Saturday-Sunday off from work or an extended weekend worthy of an out of town trip, we always like to make every second count - to rest, go to places, be with people that we care about, have an alone time, etc.
So how do we make the most of these well-deserved breaks? I have made a simple list below. Maybe you can add your own tips as well.
Plan
I know this does not sound fun, but this is crucial in enjoying your weekends. Think about what you really want to do on your rest days. Do you want to temporarily escape the city? Do you want to go to the spa? Read a book? Do an activity or just laze in your bed all day? Or do you want a good mix of several things?
Also, be realistic on what you want to do. Trying to do a lot of stuff can get you pretty worked up.
Follow thru
Make sure that your plans become a reality. Distractions can make you less productive and make you feel like there's never enough time. Remember that there are only a couple of days to really do what you want - so make every second count.
Disconnect
If you want to get some R&R, try to disconnect yourself from gadgets. Aside from getting a rest for your eyes, there is a certain peace that you get from just being alone, or being with friends and family. Appreciate the environment around you, and you'll see that there is much more to life than checking what people are up to. There is actually the REAL world, just outside the sphere of social media.
Begin and end
Put a start and a close to your weekend. Similar to a relationship, putting a closure to your rest days will give you the feeling that it was complete, and will somehow pump you for the upcoming week. If you have any unfinished agenda, you can always start anew on the next weekend.
How about you? Do you think that your weekends are usually complete, or just like most people, it's never long enough? What are the things that you do that makes you feel fully recharged and ready to face the week ahead?
